Community Involvement

 

Woodside Square is a community mall that is committed to providing non-profit groups the platform to exhibit their awareness programs and fundraising campaigns at no charge throughout the year. Over the years, the generosity of mall patrons at Woodside Square Shopping Centre have offered thousands of dollars in support to these local non-profits organizations.

The Mall supports many charitable organizations in the Scarborough area including Sick Kids Foundation, Toronto Police 42 Division, Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, Tropicana Community Services Organization, Scarborough Women’s Centre, Centre for Immigrant and Community Services, Father’s Making a Difference, Kennedy House Youth Services, The Canadian Cancer Society, The Canadian Blood Services, and the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.

The mall also has a Kids Club with over 900 members who receive information on upcoming mall events, shows and activates throughout the year for children in the community for free.

Tai Chi and Yuan Ji Dance

Monday to Saturday from 8:00am – 9:00am

Described as “meditation in motion,” this positive exercise workout will help you maintain and feel at ease with its mind-body practice that has value in treating or preventing many health problems. Come try it out at Woodside Square and feel rejuvenated while reducing blood pressure and improving the balance and coordination of a healthy lifestyle.

Yuan Ji Dance

Monday to Saturday from 8:00am – 9:00am

Chinese Yuan Ji Dance is a mixture of martial arts, dance and qigong exercise. This type of meditation promotes health and well-being for everyone. The enjoyment of Yuan Ji dance is very beneficial for our mental, spiritual and physical well-being.
