Job Description

Working with the operations manager at the Mall. Performing routine and regular inspection, mainly responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the property and will perform routine repairs and maintenance to the buildings including electrical/mechanical systems and including exterior parking lot and site repair and maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to tenant requests related to HVAC, electrical, cabling, elevators and automated lighting control in a timely and professional manner.

• Assist in testing of Fire alarm devices, Fire protection equipment and emergency diesel generator.

• Carry out daily routine checks of building equipment.

• Assist with snow removal operations coordinating with the snow removal contractors.

• Highly skilled is servicing door mechanism, closers, locks, etc. including replacement. 

• Skilled and knowledgeable in replacing ceramic/marble tiles as required.

• Experience in drywall repairs and able to perform repairs as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned by operations manager.

 

Qualifications

 

 Education

• A Grade 12 education or College and a BES designation or working towards designation

• A certificate in Building Environment Systems (or equivalent) or working towards it will be an asset

 

Experiences & Skills

• Minimum one year of related maintenance/operations experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Knowledgeable in small hand and power tools

• General knowledge of HVAC electrical/mechanical systems, and life safety systems

• Good mechanical and problem-solving skills when dealing with all trades

 

Other requirements:

• Willingness to work evenings and be available on-call on weekends as required

• Able to move furniture and equipment as needed
